Hormoz Yaghutiel, Ph.D., President

Dr. Yaghutiel is an engineering leader with over 25 years of experience in software and system development. Prior to NowLedge Tech, he led the development of Atrenta’s Power Estimation, Power Reduction, and Power Verification products. During his 10 years as Vice President of R&D at Cadence Design Systems, Dr. Yaghutiel led the development of Cadence’s RTL Compiler, managed the engineering operations for Front End Design Group, and served as Technical Advisor to the CEO. Dr. Yaghutiel was Vice President of Engineering at Get2Chip from 1999 until the acquisition by Cadence in 2003. Prior to that, he was Director of Engineering at Sapphire Design Automation (acquired by Ansys). From 1988 to 1998, Dr. Yaghutiel was a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories. Dr. Yaghutiel holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA from Columbia University, and a B.S. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

 

Shawn Shamsian, Ph.D., Advisory Board

Dr. Shamsian is Founder and CEO at Nextware Technologies, a software development and IT services company with clients ranging from startups to Fortune Global 500 companies. He is also a member of Teaching Faculty at the Computer Science Department of the University of Southern California. Prior to founding Nextware Technologies, Dr. Shamsian was Development Director at MSC Software in charge of re-architecture of the company’s flagship product--MSC Nastran--with revenues of over $100 Million per year. Dr. Shamsian has 25 years of experience spanning many facets of software development including architecture design, implementation, project management, and product management at companies such as QAD, Inc., Adexa, MacNeal Schwendler Corporation, and Sargent & Lundy. Dr. Shamsian holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, an M.S. in Computer Science from DePaul University, Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA.

 

Manu Lauria, Advisory Board

Since 2009, Mr. Lauria has been Director and Chairman of DKOP Labs Private LTD, a company engaged in training, R&D, and recruiting in the area of VLSI Design, Software Design and Embedded Design. From 1991 to 2009, Mr. Lauria held several leadership positions at Cadence Design Systems with the last position as R&D Group Director. During this time he managed the India R&D teams for several products and technologies including IP/Model Development, Custom IC, Simulation (VHDLXL, Leapfrog, Verilog-XL, Verifault, LWB, NCVHDL, NCSim), Synthesis (BG, RC), and Test. Prior to Cadence Mr. Lauria worked as a software developer at ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas commission) of Government of India Public Sector Unit. Mr. Lauria holds a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Computer Science from IIT Delhi.

 

Kenneth Wagner, Ph.D., Advisory Board

Dr. Wagner has over 25 years of experience in electronic systems as an engineer, researcher and manager. Dr. Wagner was previously with PMC-Sierra leading their low-power initiatives as well as Vice-President of Engineering for Communication Products. Earlier, he was their Director of Design Services, managing Design Infrastructure, 3rd party IP and EDA tools and methodologies. Dr. Wagner has worked for several Silicon Valley fabless IC startups directing design and implementation of video and graphics devices. Ken was Editor-In-Chief of IEEE Design and Test of Computers. He holds multiple patents from his employers including a First Plateau Patent award from IBM Corporation. Dr. Wagner received his MSEE and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Wagner is also an Adjunct Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at McGill University.  He teaches and trains engineering professionals at IEEE/ACM conferences and other events.

 

Qi Wang, Ph.D., Advisory Board

Dr. Wang is the VP and Chief of Staff to the CEO at Cadence Design Systems, Inc. He has over 16 years experience in EDA and held various R&D and marketing positions at Cadence. Prior to his current role, he was the Product Marketing Group Director of the Solutions Marketing group, with a focus on Cadence low power and mixed signal solutions. He is the chief architect of Common Power Format, which was contributed to Si2 and became the industry first open power format in early 2007. He held various positions in international standard organization like Si2 and IEEE. He had more than 20 papers published in various international conferences and journals. He also holds 7 US patents and a recipient of Cadence Outstanding Patent Award in 2010. In 2011, he received the Distinguished Service Award from Si2. Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from University of Arizona and his B.S. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

 

Sandeep Mehndiratta, Advisory Board

Mr. Mehndiratta is a seasoned executive with over 20 years across multiple disciplines.  He spent over 11 years at Cadence Design systems in various executive positions leading North America application engineering & professional services, worldwide sales operations and prior to that product management for Virtuoso, the market leading analog and mixed-signal design platform. Prior to that he has worked at Synopsys & Interra Design in product management, field and R&D roles. Currently Sandeep is Vice President, Operations at Avaya, a leading provider of solutions for unified communications and collaboration, contact center and customer experience management, and networking. He has a B. tech in Electronics & Communications Engineering from IIT, Varanasi in India.
